One way to disperse fear and create decision was to consider the worst possible outcome of one's actions.

Robin Hobb
About This Quote

What would happen if you did not take any action and someone died or something else terrible happened. Would you sit there and wait for it to happen? Or would you do something to prevent it from happening? When we think about the worst possible outcome, we feel the fear of what could happen and then we make a decision that will help us avoid that fear. The more we think about the worst possible outcome, the less likely we are to do anything to prevent it from happening. But, when we go out and take actions we don't feel the same fear because we know we can handle whatever happens and keep ourselves safe and sound.
